A number of schools in the Grand Traverse region have closed this week in an attempt to help slow the spread of influenza.

TCAPS has urged students and staff to "refrain from attending large gatherings as they may already have been exposed to the flu".

In support of these efforts, the Traverse Area District Library has cancelled several youth-oriented events that were to take place during this time.

The following library events have been cancelled:

Saturday Sampler - Halloween Stories and Craft at Woodmere (Sat Oct 31)

Haunted Family Theatre at Kingsley (Sat Oct 31)

Old Fashioned Halloween Party at East Bay (Sat Oct 31)
