Woodmere Lobby Redesign. A view from the top: welcome desk, four express checkout stations, accessible holds shelf.
The Traverse Area District Library's Woodmere (Main) Branch will be closed Sunday, August 26 - Monday, September 3 for the lobby redesign. It will reopen the day after Labor Day on Tuesday, September 4 and will feature a new welcome desk for staff to greet and provide service for patrons, an expanded and accessible holds shelf and four express checkout stations that are fast, easy, and convenient.

During Woodmere's brief closure, patrons are reminded that they have access to five other amazing community libraries through TADL. Patrons are invited to Travel the TADL to explore and get to know TADL's network of community libraries.

The lobby redesign is a part of the library's district-wide 2012 service upgrades. The upgrades include an enhanced online catalog, RFID tagging and, in the coming months, MeLCat. With more than 1.2 million lending transactions in the last year, the upgrades to the catalog and circulation systems are exciting and critical to control cost and continually improve the high quality of services the community has come to expect.
