Peninsula Community Library, a member of the Traverse Area District Library network is inviting library patrons to join in a special “community reads” program during the month of February. The Hundred Dresses, by Eleanor Estes, is the story of a young girl who wears the same dress to school every day but tells everyone that she has 100 dresses in her closet.
A timeless tale of bullying, regret and forgiveness, it is as poignant today as it was when published in 1944. Copies of the book are available for check out and will be available for sale at the Peninsula Community Library. While it is a children’s book, adults are encouraged to participate as well to share their own stories as both the victim and the intimidator. Details available at the Peninsula Community Library.
