SCORE Offers More Options at the Traverse Area District Library
As part of their continuing partnership launched in 2012 with the Traverse Area District Library, SCORE is expanding its offerings at the library to include more small business workshops and mentoring services by appointment on Saturdays.  This year, SCORE will offer both of its most popular workshops, Overview to Starting a Business and  Preparing a Business Plan, twice.  In addition, SCORE will offer workshops monthly on other small business topics such as profitability, marketing, insurance, trademarks, franchising, and social media.

“Our partnership with the Traverse Area District Library has been extremely successful and we’ve had an overwhelming response to our workshops at the library.  To meet the growing demand, SCORE is offering more workshops and repeating some of our most popular topics so more entrepreneurs can take advantage of these programs,” said Marshall Persky, Chairman of SCORE.

Beginning March 2, SCORE will also offer business mentoring by appointment from 9:00 am – 10:00 am on Saturdays at the library’s main branch on Woodmere.  Walk-in mentoring appointments will continue to be available from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on Saturdays at the Woodmere branch.

“While many clients like the convenience of a walk-in meeting, others prefer to schedule their Saturday mentoring appointment in advance.  We already offer mentoring by appointment at our office in the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce building.  We are now expanding scheduled appointments by offering clients that option at the library on Saturdays as well,” stated Persky.   Schedule an advance appointment online.

"We are pleased to continue our partnership with SCORE to provide expanded support for our community's entrepreneurs including established business owners," said Metta T. Lansdale, Jr. TADL director.  “Together we are sharing resources to bring greater value to our patrons and clients and in turn the community.”
