Board of Trustees
There are 7 members of the Traverse Area District Library (TADL) Board. All members are appointed to a four year term. Four members are appointed by the Grand Traverse County Commission, three board members are appointed by the Traverse City Commission. The Library Board sets policy for TADL, the East Bay Branch Library and Kingsley Branch Library and negotiates contracts for service with each Member Library. TADL is a district library, which means we are a taxing authority. TADL receives funds from these areas: Grand Traverse County, Elmwood Township in Leelanau county and Almira and Inland Townships in Benzie County. Meetings are held once a month, normally the second Thursday, beginning at 5:30 pm at the TADL Woodmere Branch, 610 Woodmere Ave., Traverse City, MI 49686.
The Traverse Area District Library will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as signers for the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities at the meeting upon 3 days notice to the Library.
