Board of Trustees Public Hearing and Special Meeting

Thursday, October 17, 2001

Traverse Area District Library

(minutes are unofficial until approved by the Board of Trustees)

 

            The Study Session for the purpose of reviewing the Director’s recommendations regarding district-wide priorities for library services and facilities was called to order by President Brown at 5:35 p.m.  Present were Brown, Mesch, Quick, Schermerhorn, Lawrence, Maxson and Welch.  Also present were McGuire and Schneider (Staff) and E. Kage (Friends).

 

            Brown explained the various issues facing the Board that had led to McGuire’s report and this study session.  McGuire reviewed his report, followed by discussion by the Board of the various issues.

 

            The meeting was opened for public comment.  E. Kage addressed the Board regarding access to library services, particularly by children. There was no further public comment.

 

            The Board agreed to hold a follow-up study session on Monday, November 5, 2001, at 5:30 p.m.  The study session was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
