Board of Trustees Special Meeting

Thursday, May 29, 2003

Traverse Area District Library

(minutes are unofficial until approved by the Board of Trustees)

 

The special meeting was called to order at 5:35 by President Mesch.  Present were Mesch, Lawrence, Maxson, and Luyt.  Brown arrived at 5:45 p.m.  Welch and Quick were absent.  Also present were Judson (Counsel), McGuire and Buchanan (Staff).

 

The purpose of the meeting was to reconsider action taken at the May 8, 2003, Regular Meeting regarding acceptance of an LSTA grant.  Motion by Lawrence, supported by Luyt to decline the LSTA MeLCAT Preparedness Grant awarded by the Library of Michigan for 2003.  Carried.

            The meeting was opened for public comment.  M. Hanson addressed the Board regarding the MeLCAT.  There was no further public comment.  McGuire brought to the trustees’ attention announcements of a public hearing regarding construction of a boathouse in Hull Park and a Trustee Workshop presented by the Library of Michigan.  Meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
