National Library Week | April 8-14, 2012

Every day across the country, libraries open their doors to everyone: students, parents, seniors, teachers, writers, artists, job seekers, entrepreneurs, readers, gamers, movie lovers and travel buffs.

New Puppets Added to TADL Borrowing Collection

The Traverse Area District Library (TADL) has added an additional 200 puppets to its borrowing collection. Puppets are great listeners to read to or you can check-out a couple of puppets for a fun read aloud session! Puppets are available to check out throughout the district for up to 4 weeks.

2011 has been a banner year for us here at the East Bay Branch Library.  We celebrated 20 years of service to the community and have expanded services to meet the needs of our patrons.  Attendance at programs such as Wigglers Story Time, Summer Reading Club and Adult Craft Night has surged.

Singer Songwriter Joel Mabus to Perform at the East Bay Branch Library

Michigan singer-songwriter Joel Mabus will bring his talents to the East Bay Branch Library on Saturday December 3rd at 1:30p.m.  A talented instrumentalist and singer in the folk tradition, Joel Mabus will entertain young and old alike.  Bring family and friends and enjoy music and refreshments in the holiday spirit.  Call the library at 922-2085 for more information.

East Bay Branch Library will be closed for Election Day November 8th

The East Bay Branch Library will be closed all day for the election on Tuesday November 8th.  Woodmere Branch Library,  Kingsley Branch Library, Interlochen Public Library and Peninsula Community Library  will be open regular hours.  We will open again for business on Wednesday morning at 10:00a.m.

You Are Here- Teen Summer Reading

The teen summer reading program kicked off just a few weeks ago and the participation has been wonderful. At the end of week 3, participants have read a total of 137 hours. Teens are reading all sorts of things: Dramas, Mysteries, Supernatural Thrillers, Magazines, and even the Wall Street Journal.
