Book Club: Anatomy Of A Murder
This November, the library book club will be reading the 1958 best-seller "Anatomy of a Murder" by Robert Traver. Based on a true story of a murder in Big Bay, Michigan, the novel covers the trial of an Army Lieutenant who shot a local bar-tender for supposedly assaulting his wife. Because of its overwhelming popularity in the late 50s, noted Hollywood director Otto Preminger turned it into a classic film made right in Marquette. So, instead of just discussing the book, the book club would like to invite any adult in our community to join them for the showing of the movie on the library’s large screen. We will begin at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, November 17. Bring a comfortable chair, wear comfortable clothes, and be ready to eat popcorn and movie candy. Plan to join the fun and help celebrate the 50th anniversary of one of the best and most authentic trial movies ever made.
