Live! at the Library Permaculture Gardening Author - Eric Toensmeier
The Traverse Area District Library’s “Live! @ the Library” series, in partnership with ISLAND, Little Artshram, and the Michigan Land Use Institute, presents author Eric Toensmeier on Sunday, January 31, 2010 from 12:30-4:30 p.m. in the McGuire Room at 610 Woodmere in Traverse City.
The program features a presentation about gardening and community, followed by a panel discussion with audience input about community gardening in Northwest Lower Michigan.
Eric Toensmeier is the award-winning author of “Perennial Vegetables” and co-author of “Edible Forest Gardens”. An expert on the useful perennial crops of the world, he has taught about permaculture and perennial food production systems in multiple languages and countries.
His urban homestead is a model of how to apply permaculture to a small space with poor soils. Eric also ran the Tierra de Oportunidades urban farm project for Nuestras Raices in Holyoke, MA.
Books will be available for purchase and signing.
