Being There (1979)

A simple-minded gardener named Chance (Peter Sellers) has spent his life in total seclusion living in an old Washington D.C. home. When the home owner and employer dies, Chance is put out on the street with no knowledge of the world except what he has learned from television. After Chance befriends a wealthy woman named Eve Rand (Shirley MacLaine) he is slowly transformed into an unlikely political insider.
