The Friends of TADL is now twenty-four years old. We grew from an organization that supported one small library to one that now contributes support throughout the District's six libraries, and counting. Sometimes the support is monetary. Other times it's by helping get the word out throughout the District and its surrounding communities.
Friends of the Traverse Area District Library are an enthusiastic
group of men and women
who support the Library's mission and contribute their funds
and/or time and creativity to further TADL's mission to enrich our community.
A friend is someone like you.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Friends of the Traverse Area District Library is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization founded in 1982 and dedicated to:
encouraging appreciation and use of the Traverse Area District Library (TADL).
building greater awareness of the TADL facilities.
expanding the role of the TADL in the cultural and educational development of the district.
attracting gifts, manuscripts, bequests of books, art objects and funds to support and improve the TADL resources and services.
To this end, we have established the Friends of the Traverse Area District Library Foundation, hereafter called the Friends of TADL Foundation, so that the community may contribute to enhance the quality of library services. The Friends of TADL Foundation funds will be used to promote literacy, develop a superior collection of materials, expand technological services, and fund innovative library projects throughout the District.
