To allow for a revamp of our network and server infrastructure, all TADL network and internet services will be offline from approximately 6-8 p.m. on the evening of Friday, May 11.

TADL: RFP for Automated Materials Handling

The Traverse Area District Library (TADL) is seeking competitive proposals to provide the library with equipment and assist in the implementation of automated materials handling.   Bidders are required to use the Proposal and Bid format provided in the RFP.  Deadline for receipt of proposals is Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.

TADL Brings Grassroots Little Free Library Movement to Traverse City

May 4, 2012 – (Traverse City, Mich.) The Traverse Area District Library (TADL) is excited to bring the nationwide Little Free Library movement to Traverse City. Sponsoring Northern Michigan’s first registered Little Free Library, TADL, is hoping to encourage members of the community to serve as literacy stewards by creating their own Little Free Libraries.


The public is invited to celebrate community and the joy of reading at the official Kids Creek Little Free Library opening on Sunday, May 6 at 1 p.m. at Spruce and Sixth Streets in Traverse City.

Friends of TADL: Celebrating 30 Years of Service to the Community!

Celebrating 30 years of service to the community, the Friends of the Traverse Area District Library will host a special annual meeting on Wednesday, May 16 at 6 p.m. in the McGuire Room at the Main Branch of the Traverse Area District Library. The evening will include refreshments, a brief meeting, and featured guest, local author, Jerry Dennis. The public is invited and encouraged to attend this annual meeting.

Park and Read Program Returns for Fourth Season

Take advantage of the Traverse Area District Library’s partnership with Michigan’s Park and Read program to enjoy a day free of charge to any Michigan state park.
