Online catalog downtime on Monday, May 31

All Traverse Area District Library locations will be closed Monday, May 31st in observance of Memorial Day. Additionally, our online catalog at http://catalog.tadl.org/ as well as any online resources which require authentication will be offline from 8:00 am Monday for a minimum of 12 hours as we perform a routine software upgrade.

Salute to the Original Adams Fly

Kingsley Friends of the Library is honored to sponsor "Salute to the Original Adams Fly". Tied by Len Halladay in 1922 for his friend Judge Charlie Adams, The Original Adams Fly will be presented for permanent display at Kingsley Branch Library on Sunday, April 18, 2010, from 1:00-3:00 PM. The fly's story will be told by Halladay family members. read more »

Our Lending Policy Just Got Better
Effective March 1, 2010
  • Loan periods are extended to four weeks for most items
  • Rental fees are abolished
  • E-Mail reminder notices are issued 3 days in advance of the due date.
  • Daily overdue fees for most items are 25¢, children’s items 15¢; for “Hot” items $1.00 per day.

New County Health Rankings Give First Snapshot of Health in Each State

Grand Traverse County ranked #8 and Leelanau County #3 of 82 counties in Michigan.

The County Health Rankings -- the first set of reports to rank the overall health of every county in all 50 states -- are now available on www.countyhealthrankings.org. The 50-state report, released by the University of Wisconsin's Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, help public health and community leaders, policy-makers, consumers and others to see how healthy their county is, compare it with others within their state and find ways to improve the health of their community. read more »
