TADL BOARD POLICES
(this list does not include all policies)
As it is contrary to the Library's primary function of providing access to library media by individuals regardless of age, race, religion, national origin, or social political views, the Library cannot and will not establish or enforce any barrier to the materials in its collection based solely on the age of the patron.

Special Note: The following statement is from the
Library director regarding Donations of Used Books, Videos and Compact Discs,
however, not a TADL Board passed policy found in the TADL Policy Manual, but an
extended explanation of donation acceptance guidelines ~
We gladly accept donations of used books, videos and compact discs provided that they are in good condition. Those that we do not add to the collection will be offered to the Friends of the Library for its ongoing book sale (or its annual "Almost Rare" dale) or to other libraries in the District. We do not accept the following: soiled or damaged books; musty, moldy or smelly books; textbooks; Reader's Digest; encyclopedias more than 3 years old or which are incomplete; records (LP or 45s); magazines.
A $2.00 fee is levied for inter-library loan request regardless of whether the request is successfully filled. The fee helps offset return postage costs. It also discourages capricious requests.
We do not pass on to the patron any fees we are charged by the lending library. Patrons are given ten days from the date the notice of availability is mailed to come in and pick up the loaned material.
Photocopies which need not be returned are normally mailed to the patron.
Inter-library loans may not be renewed.

For the safety and welfare of young children, they should not be left unattended in the Library.
The Library is not responsible for the safety and welfare of these children.
All children under the age of 8 must be accompanied at all times by a person at least 14 years old.
Upon discovering an unattended child, staff will attempt to locate the person responsible for that child.
If the proper person cannot be located within one‑half hour, authorities will be called to take the child into custody.
