John Irving

I opened this book with total excitement because I love John Irving and even though I’m a librarian and I work surrounded by books, I had no idea he had a new novel coming out until it was in my hands at the library. What a wonderful surprise!  On the first page of In One Person readers meet the main character, Billy, and a librarian he has a mad crush on. As I’m reading the first few pages I’m thinking how great it is Irving is writing about librarians, I love it! Needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and it turns out, my affinity for the story has little to do with the librarian character (not that she isn’t great). No one writes like John Irving and if you’ve never read anything by him, start now. You will find this book on the New Fiction shelf and as a HOT title. A comprehensive selection of his earlier work may be found in the fiction stacks.
