The name Julia Child is well known in the food world, but perhaps not to many young people. This book introduces Julia from her youth and follows her to fame. Julia loved to cook, and her world travels led her to write cookbooks for American people to learn how to cook foods from other countries, mostly from France. Presented in scrapbook format and filled with drawings and freehand text, this book would be an excellent choice for reluctant readers. Many detailed facts and illustrations make it easy to follow along. Several recipes suitable for young people to try are included. The two page spread of how to make galantine is delightful though a bit daunting!
