A meticulously researched retelling of a bloody shootout at the turn of the century in Arizona history. With authentically rich dialogue and fascinating character development, Cobb not only reveals the exciting adventure and drama of attempting to elude the law, but through flashbacks, gives the background and moral fiber of a family trying to make a living and prosper in a desolate countryside. You sympathize with the Power brothers and their loyal hand Tom Sisson. They were defending themselves from upholders of the law who were perhaps too eager for violence. The tragic result of four men dying forced them to flee for an original crime that surely could have been resolved peaceably. This true story is a fast paced read and a compelling family history
