Support Your Library

The Traverse Area District Library (TADL) is a network of community libraries serving Grand Traverse County and the City of Traverse City. Public funding provides for day-to-day operation, and community support allows us to flourish and grow.

Monetary Donations

Monetary donations are always welcome and appreciated! Funds may be given directly to the Traverse Area District Library. Your donation will enrich, not replace, traditional tax-based funding and allow us to expand programming and services. Monetary amounts can be donated to the Library’s general operations or designated for a particular area of interest.

Areas of Interest
  • Library Programs and Services
  • Talking Book Library, services for visually impaired and handicapped
  • Landscaping/Artwork
Honor the memory of a loved one, pay tribute to family or friends, or celebrate a special occasion by donating to TADL. Gifts of $300 or more will be placed on the donor wall in the lobby of the Main (Woodmere) Branch Library for permanent public recognition. Gifts of $10,000 or more will be acknowledged specifically on the donor wall and, if appropriate, in the location where monies have been utilized.

Make a donation by mail. Click here for a printer friendly PDF mail-in donation form.

Book Donations

Thousands of books are given to TADL each year and many are added to our shelves. The rest are sold at annual used book sales or in the Gift Shop. Whether added to our collection or sold to the public, your book donation benefits the library and the community.

Donated items accepted:
  • books, hardback and paperback
  • CDs
  • DVDs
Please do not donate books or other material in poor condition. The library cannot use them and must make arrangements for disposal.

Thank you for your support of the Traverse Area District Library.
