Caldecott and Newbery Awards

Each January, the American Library Association honors books and authors for children and teens published the previous year. Two of the most prestigious awards are the Caldecott and Newbery Medals.
The Caldecott award has been given to the illustrator of the most distingushed American picture book for children since 1938.
