Discover Read-Alikes at Traverse Area District Library

Not sure what to read next?┬áDo you have a favorite author or genre that you enjoy reading? Have you read all of the published titles by that author, or in a series, and now have nothing else to read until the next book comes many months or years from now? Well don’t worry, Traverse Area District Library has a solution: Read-Alikes.

Read-alikes are suggestions for readers that enjoy the works of a particular author and would like recommendations of other authors that write in a similar style or genre. Do you like James Patterson? Try something written by Tami Hoag or Andrew Vachss. Enjoy Diana Gabaldon? Pick up something by Julie Garwood or Sara Gruen.

Visit the 2nd floor of the TADL Main Library to browse our display of 52 different Read-Alike lists on colorful and convenient bookmark slips for you to take and use as a reference when searching the online catalog! Or simply ask one of our Adult Reference department librarians for assistance.

Remember that individual judgments of writing styles will differ among readers and that these suggestions are provided by librarians simply as a guide to keep you reading. Happy reading!
