Hurricane Relief & Recovery Drive

The six community libraries in the Traverse Area District Library Network are partnering with 9&10 News to help bring relief to those impacted by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. Hurricane Harvey killed at least 50 people in the flooding, falling trees or due to power outages in Texas and Louisiana. Hurricane Harvey is being named the costliest natural disaster in U.S. History.

This past weekend, Hurricane Irma wreaked havoc in the Florida Keys and to coastal and mainland areas across Florida. Although downgraded to a Tropical Storm, Irma now continues heading north toward Georgia and other parts of the Deep South (Alabama, Tennessee and the Carolinas) where the storm surge and inland flooding are expected to cause further life-threatening circumstances.

9&10 News is working to help those who have been effected, by collecting hygiene products and cleaning supplies at the following public libraries in Grand Traverse County:

East Bay Branch Library, Fife Lake Public Library, Kingsley Branch Library, Interlochen Public Library, Peninsula Community Library, and the TADL Main Library (Traverse City)
