Ask an Astronaut on the ISS

The Traverse Area District Library (TADL) has been selected by the ARISS-US Team (Amateur Radio on the International Space Station) to host an amateur radio contact with International Space Station (ISS) crew members using the ARISS equipment on the ISS. This is a once in a lifetime experience made possible by the Amateur Radio community in cooperation with NASA.

Here’s your chance to ask a question to an Astronaut! Ask about space research, or how astronauts use and apply science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills in their work on the ISS.

Library staff will pick the best questions and announce the winners in late May. Winners will be invited to ask their question to an astronaut live on radio in late June!

TADL is preliminarily scheduled to host the radio contact at the Main Library (Traverse City) location sometime during the last week of June 24-30, 2019. The final date and time of the radio contact will not be confirmed by NASA until one week ahead.
