Apollo Adventures with the Michigan Science Center

June 24 @ 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm| Main Library (Traverse City)

Drop in to discover the cosmos through 10 hands-on interactive stations courtesy of the Michigan Science Center. Participants will use a variety of science and engineering practices to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for space and space exploration. Activities include:

  • The Gravity Well;
  • Straw Rockets;
  • Vacuum Chambers;
  • The Expanding Universe;
  • Space Radiation;
  • What’s the Impact? (asteroids and meteorites);
  • Filtered Light;
  • Astronaut Tools;
  • Objects in Motion; and,
  • Pocket Solar System.

Apollo Adventures activities support Michigan’s Science Standards based on the Next Generation Science Standards.

This program is part of TADL’s A Universe of Stories Summer Reading Club.
