Local author Cari Noga writes resilience stories about contemporary, unconventional families. Her debut novel,Sparrow Migrations, was completed during National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in 2010. It became a semi-finalist in the 2011 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest, with Publishers Weekly describing the manuscript as “brimming with humanity and grace.”
The first draft of her second novel, The Orphan Daughter, (now published!) was also written during NaNoWriMo in 2013. This particular book focuses on relationships – how they can be messy and uncomfortable but ultimately vital to our human nature. Please join us as we help launch and introduce this book to readers. Cari will share her inspiration for this novel, her writing process and the research materials she used, including items from TADL’s collection. She will also share a music video that helped get her in the writing mood every evening. Lastly, she will have her local beta readers read parts of her story. This is a rare opportunity to get into the heart and mind of a fantastic writer.
