Books & Brewskis | Robust Books, Beer to Match
January 29 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm| The Filling Station Microbrewery
TADL’s book club hosted at The Filling Station Microbrewery, next door to the Main Library in Traverse City (Woodmere Ave.).
Readers can look forward to a laid-back atmosphere and lively discussion of the month’s book choice, titles as varied and distinctive as the beer served up. Books & Brewskis will meet on the last Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
The book choice for this month is When the Emperor was Divine by Julia Otsuka.
You can also enjoy a beverage. We suggest the amber ale on Track #8, called “TAD-aLe.” $0.50 from each pint is donated to TADL!
Summary: Otsuka's commanding debut novel paints a portrait of the Japanese internment camps unlike any previously written--a haunting evocation of a family in wartime and an unmistakably resonant lesson for our times.
Call Number: FIC OTS
