Friends of TADL: Vintage Book Sale
May 11 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm| Main Library (Traverse City)
Spring Vintage Book Sale: Open to the Public
The Spring Vintage Book Sale is the first of its kind for Friends of TADL. Steve Morse, a Traverse City resident and avid book collector, generously donated more than 3,000 hardcover and paperback books in topics ranging from art and coffee table books, to social sciences, poetry, cookbooks and more. The books have been meticulously sorted and catalogued by Friends volunteers.
The sale will also feature vintage “Books from the Attic” – volumes that have been stored in the third floor of TADL’s Main Library (610 Woodmere Ave., Traverse City, MI) for many years. Some of these date back as far as 1893, although more modern titles are available. Unlike previous sales that feature mostly fiction, this sale will spotlight topics that include titles in biography, art, classics, Michigan history, poetry and more.
More than half of the books will be priced at $3 a volume.
Other more current, gift quality, and rare books will be priced at $5 or more.
This community event, managed by the Friends of the Library, starts on Friday, May 10 from 6-8pm with a special pre-sale for Friends only. Individual and Family memberships are available at the door.
The Saturday sale is open to all, on May 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
