September 25 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm| Main Library (Traverse City)
Award-winning author, Martha Bloomfield passionately shares stories of marginalized people—immigrants, migrants and homeless in an effort to dissipate prejudice, stereotyping and discrimination, and foster dialogue, civic engagement, social responsibility and justice. Multi-faceted stories reflect people’s personal and family memories of their life journeys—including struggles, leaving home, how and why they chose Michigan, challenges adapting to new homes, and dreams and hopes for future generations. Martha is an author of many books, several of which are about immigrants in Michigan. Please join us as she tells their stories.
