Monarch Butterfly Program

August 29 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm| Kingsley Branch Library

Always enjoyable and informative is our Monarch Butterfly program. Join us in the Children’s Garden behind the library to learn the habits of this remarkable insect.  Tagged butterflies will be released to begin their migration, then tracked by Monarch Watch (www.monarchwatch.org).  Last year, we learned that one of our tagged butterflies had been tracked thousands of miles!

The Kingsley Branch Library has been hosting this popular program for several years and is a Certified and Registered Monarch Waystation.  The butterflies are shipped to us cold and we have learned to tag them quickly, as they are quite active as they warm up!  There are so many fascinating facts about these beautiful creatures.  Bring the family to observe, learn and enjoy!

If you have questions, please call 231-263-5484.
