Parenting: Guiding Principles for Highly Successful Parenting

August 26 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 1:00 pm on Monday, repeating until August 26, 2019

| Main Library (Traverse City)

Parents are invited to join MSU Extension instructor, Tracy Trautner, for this 4 week series.

The early years of learning and behavior establish patterns that impact the rest of your child’s life. During this time, the developing brain becomes ready for learning, patterns of behavior and self-concept are well-established, and a child builds a foundation for a lifetime of learning. This 4 week series will explore ways that families can be highly effective in raising their kids to be successful in school and in life.

The 4 sessions of this program run on Mondays from 8/5 – 8/26 and will cover the following topics:

  • August 5th: Developing family routines
  • August 12th: Developing emotional control in your child
  • August 19th: Being a calm, assertive parent
  • August 26th: Learning from mistakes and developing empathy & the ability to be thankful as a result

Sign-up HERE or drop in to participate. Childcare is not provided.
