Storyteller’s Night Sky @ the State Theatre: Stories of How the Stars Crown Summer’s Solstice
June 22 @ 9:30 am - 10:00 am| The State Theatre
Once upon a time, every star had a name, and in every name was a story…
So begins a magical session of the storytelling of the stars with Star Lore Historian Mary Stewart Adams, founding member of the team that established one of the first ten international dark sky parks in the world, and host of the weekly radio segment “The Storyteller’s Night Sky” heard each Monday morning on Interlochen Public Radio.
Stories of How the Stars Crown Summer’s Solstice includes the following stories: The Girl Fish from Andrew Lang’s collection; The Queen Bee from Brother’s Grimm; and Arrow to the Sun, a Pueblo tale. Mary’s presentations are interactive and informative, and while you may walk away with a star map in hand, you will also leave with a star song in your heart!
*This program starts 30 minutes before the featured movie. Attendees must buy a movie ticket to attend.
This program is part of TADL’s A Universe of Stories Summer Reading Club.
