Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction – MBSR, an 8-week program created by Jon Kabbat-Zinn in 1979 out of the University of Massachusetts, has been shown to reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and increase joy and enthusiasm towards life. This evidenced-based class has also been shown to reduce the onset and symptoms of numerous disease processes of the body and mind and to help one more successfully navigate through life’s inevitable challenges.
Come hear about this well researched and scientifically studied approach to stress reduction using mindfulness practices, meditation, yoga and psychoeducational integrations of our habitual patterns of reactivity. In this talk you will learn about the history and content of MBSR as well as have the opportunity to experience brief mindfulness practices and meditations.
