Howard Happy Library Lovers Month! While all of us love the library, there is a group of people who love the library so much that they serve as TADL Trustees. These dedicated individuals attend a monthly board meeting and committee meetings to guide the director (me), the library and its budget to serve our community the best way possible. In January, the Board held its annual election of officers: * Marylee Pakieser - President * Paul Deyo - Vice President * Sam Gedman - Secretary * Susan Odgers - Treasurer Also serving on our board: Michael Vickery, Jennifer Beuthin, and Joseph Jones. It’s not only the TADL Board of Trustees who love their library. One of the best parts of my job is the kind letters and comments people give to me. Lately, I’ve had many compliments about our new Flybrary collaboration with the Cherry Capital Airport. I received a recent letter from a patron who loves the library - especially the ease of the Hold Shelf. Many community members share thoughts on how great they feel our collection is, how beautiful the building, and of course, about our friendly and helpful the staff. Of course, it is my love of libraries and reading that brought me to this profession over 30 years ago. I almost applied to law school, until I spoke to a person leaving the paralegal profession to become a librarian. It was a lightbulb moment and I have never looked back. The ability to read well and understand what you read is a vitally important life skill, not to mention - it's such a joy! Please share the reasons why you love the library in our comment box, mail a letter, or email me (mailto:mhoward@tadl.org) . I hope to see you soon at the library, Michele ============================================================ ** Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/TraverseAreaDistrictLibrary) ** Link (http://www.instagram.com/notjustbooks) ** Website (http://tadl.org) ** YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/TADLnotjustbooks)
