Our theme this year is:
Readers of all ages can sign up at any library location either in person or online to participate in the fun. Get ready for fantastic “out of this world” programming for all ages from infants to senior citizens. Signing up to participate will also qualify you to pickup a Summer Reading Club tee-shirt. There will also be other weekly prizes and incentives to recognize your reading time.
To add to the fun this year, we have set a District-wide goal of two-point-seven million (2.7M) minutes of reading!
Beginning June 17 through July 28, anyone (from infants to senior citizens) can participate and keep track of your daily or weekly reading minutes. Simply report your weekly reading online or at any library location. Each person should try to read 100 minutes each week, even though we know a lot of you will read a lot more than that!
Readers of all ages will record their reading in minutes. At the end of the program, everyone who reported at least 600 minutes will be entered into a grand prize drawing based on their group. The groups will be pre-readers, readers, teens, and adults.
The Traverse Area District Library was selected to make a live Q & A radio contact with NASA astronaut Nick Hague aboard the International Space Station on Friday, June 28!
It was an extraordinary experience. You can watch the video of the radio event on the TADL YouTube Channel .
We’ll have a variety of other programs for all ages that support our summer reading program and encourage participation. Plus, each week there will be a prize drawing for all teens and adults that participated. Youth will receive a weekly prize when they stop in to report at the library.
Thank you to our Friends organizations for your financial support of programming as Summer Reading Club sponsors:
