The Kingsley Public Library (KPL) was established circa 1910 as the Kingsley Women's Civic Club Library. It was moved to its current location in 1939.

The collection includes books for children and adult fiction and nonfiction. There are also magazines, children's videos, and compact discs. Computers are available for e-mail  and internet use. We have internet access too! There is a summer reading club and story times. When KPL is closed, patrons may return their materials in the dropbox outside the building on the North side.

HAVE YOU HEARD?

The Kingsley Public Library has found a new home! See photos of our future site. The village property, on which the DPW building currently stands, has been dedicated by the village council as the library location. This site is adjacent to Brownson Park and tennis courts.

HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?
The Kingsley Friends of the Library (KFOL) members held monthly meetings and supported a library open house, summer reading program, and holiday gift making. The Baptist church and Village Eatery were studied as possible sites but neither structure met library needs. The Traverse Area District Library (TADL) hired an architect to draw up prototype building plans and The Brenton Group completed a feasibility study. Fundraisers were held: Book Sale in February; Jazz Band Concert and dance in April; and Spring Garden Walkabout in June.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?
Come to the KFOL Meetings held at 8:30 am on the 3rd Saturday of each month at Kingsley Elem. Library. Come and get involved be a member, help with fundraisers - donate time, energy, ideas, and money.
