We’re thrilled to introduce our new online catalog, discover.tadl.org!

In the coming weeks, this new catalog will replace our current one (catalog.tadl.org), becoming your primary destination to explore everything Traverse Area District Library offers, books, movies, music, digital downloads, and more, as well as to manage your library account.

Key New Features

Discover More With On Demand Content:

In addition to the books, movies, CDs, STEM kits, and other materials on our shelves, search results now include digital content available for instant streaming or download through services like Hoopla and Libby. You no longer have to visit multiple websites to find all that your library has to offer. It’s all right here in one search.

Save Time Searching With Grouped Works:

Search results now combine all formats of the same title (print, large print, audiobook, ebook, and more) into a single record. This makes it easier to see every available version of a book at a glance, without scrolling through pages of results.

Never Check out the Same Book Twice (Unless You Want To):

For our avid readers and power users, the new catalog includes a handy checkout history indicator. Once you’ve enabled checkout history in your account settings, the catalog will show whether you’ve borrowed a particular title before, helping you avoid those “wait, haven’t I read this?” moments.

New Advanced Search Capabilities:

When you need to dig deep, try the new Advanced Search. You can:

  • Enter multiple keywords and use AND, OR, and NOT operators to refine your results.
  • Choose which fields to search, such as title, author, or subject, and mix them however you like.
  • Add search groups and control whether you want results that match any or all of them.

It’s a powerful tool for researching complex topics or finding just the right material.
