Join IPR and Traverse Area District Library as we celebrate the theremin, an electronic musical instrument!
At 1 pm, patrons will have an opportunity to experiment with a variety of instruments from the Library of Things, including a Moog Theremini. At 2 pm, local musician Kevin LaRose will offer a live theremin demonstration! There will also be a screening of the sci-fi classic The Day the Earth Stood Still.
This event is a wonderful opportunity to experience an instrument which has been pivotal to the evolution of modern music.
