Bust a Move with Lizzie Bennet

Whether you're a Jane Austen fan, a Bridgerton enthusiast, or simply interested in history, this class will be a fun evening of dancing suitable for any Regency ballroom.  You will learn a little social etiquette as you dive into some English Country dance.  No partner is necessary, much like the Bennet sisters, we shall see who arrives and dance the night away!  Wear clothing that is easy to move in and don't be shy about breaking out the flowing skirts or cravats as you vibe with your Austenite/Bridgerton style.

Who is teaching?

Anna Beard, a northern Michigan native, is a giant nerd for all things history.  She has been dancing since she was about four years old, which continued through getting her BFA in Dance from the University of Michigan.  Her interest in historical dance began as a teenager, performing at local madrigal dinners as well as the Michigan Renaissance Festival, and has only persisted and deepened.  Anna has taught historical dance all over the country and loves to facilitate a little "time travel" as we look back at how people moved, socialized, and found joy in their movement expression.
