Program Description

Event Details

As a Detroit teenager, Maxine Thompson integrated Traverse City’s St. Francis High in 1967-68, while living with renowned local sculptress Verna Bartnick and her family. The women will come together to discuss Thompson's book Lineage: A Memoir, her account of that tumultuous, racially charged year that saw the assassination of Dr. King and uprisings across the U.S.

This event will be in-person at the library, but virtual attendance is also available.
