What Is the Grand Traverse Non-Motorized Transportation Future?

We invite you to join the Grand Traverse Safe Streets Alliance (GTSSA) during TART Trails Smart Commute Week to discuss the Traverse City area potential for expanded non-motorized transportation for commuting and shopping.

At the session, several short videos will be shown of current national success stories in cities that have expanded their non-motorized transit options.  The benefits, approaches used, and how they addressed challenges will be discussed by a panel of local stakeholders. Open participation to spur ideas and discussion on how these best practice approaches could apply to Traverse City and the surrounding communities is encouraged.

BONUS EVENT - BIKE RALLY CORRAL!!!! - from 4:30pm to 6pm on the library's front lawn, bring your latest commuting bike purchase (e.g. cargo bike, pedal bike, E-bike, etc.) and show it off!  Tell others why you purchased it, what are the options you purchased and considered and why it works for you.  We will have examples from local bike stores as well.
