Week-end Cabin by Doris Lee
Matted with metal plate - Gouache on board depicts a log cottage on an inland lake or quiet harbor. A dock juts out into the lake and a man on a boat rows by. Pine trees surround the cabin. The painting is done in the naive style Ms. Lee used. She was named one of American's most important contemporary women artists. Her work is represented in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. On display on the 2nd floor.
