Watch this page for details affecting your MeLCat loans and any MeLCat service disruptions.

Due to uncertainty regarding the State of Michigan's budget, we're posting this update. Funding is secure through 9/30/2025 for MeLCat (Michigan's Interlibrary Loan system) and many of our databases (such as NoveList) that we receive through mel.org. However, after that date we may experience disruption with IMLS-funded services. You can keep up-to-date with funding developments here.
Potential service disruption - should there be a state budget impasse:
- MeLCat - If you have MeLCat items you wish to request please do so ASAP! We do not know if we will be able to fill your MeLCat requests after 9/30/2025. (mel.org)
- Databases - Also, if you have research to do in the IMLS-funded databases you should plan to do it ASAP, before 9/30/2025. The affected databases are all identified on tadl.org, just click "More Details" for each database and you will find a note if it is funded through IMLS.
