How fast time flies by! Today marks almost a year of blog posts, with over 25 posts going out since January 7th. For those of you who are statistics-oriented, that means our Teen Blog has been up and running for 357 days and counting, with 24 regular posts and 2 special manga spotlights.
We’re thrilled to have made it this far– and we know that wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our awesome teen readers! So to everyone reading today, we hope you’ve been enjoying the first year of content from the Teen Blog! From featured events to our favorite books, we love highlighting the best things that Teen Services has to offer.
It’s almost New Year’s, so we’ve decided to come up with new and improved New Year’s resolutions to welcome in 2026. Here are our top three resolutions to make the Teen Blog even better than before!
- Give the Teen Blog a new look! We’re updating our Teen Blog logo to give it a fresh look for the new year. See if you can spot the difference in our next blog post this January.
- Create 25 more blog posts chock full of teen trends and other content! This year, it was K-Pop Demon Hunters and Sunrise on The Reaping. Who knows what it’ll be next year? Whatever trends 2026 brings, you have our word that the Teen Blog will talk about them!
Include seasonal specials for 2026! This year the Teen Blog will be doing four special blog posts all about the changing seasons! These posts will include new books, upcoming events, and more, so don’t miss out.
We have one more thing to celebrate the New Year that we think you’re going to like. That’s right, it’s time for the 2026 Annual Teen Winter Lock-In!
Not to brag, but we like to think the Teen Winter Lock-In has something for everyone. For craft-lovers, we’ll have a designated craft station perfect for letting your creativity flow. If you’re gamers, you have your choice of video games or other party games. And we can’t forget the food! As the classic party staple, we’ll have tons of pizza for teens to enjoy alongside snacks like chips, fresh fruits and veggies, and more. And last but not least, steamy hot chocolate will be provided for teens to warm up from the winter chill.
If that sounds like a good time, join us on January 30th from 6:30 PM to midnight for an evening of after-hours fun! Just don’t forget to bring a signed permission slip from the teen reference desk– teens won’t be let in without one.
