Have you ever wanted to know what goes on in the library after dark? Tons of thrilling activities and delicious snacks, that's what! And you're invited!
This exciting event is one night only... and it's coming up quick! Join us on Friday August 1st, then stay up from 8:00 PM till 8:00 AM for 12 hours of fun at the library.
What exactly will be at the TADL Teen Lock-In??
We're glad you asked! We can't cover everything (there are too many cool things to list), but here are our favorites!
Food!
No good event is complete without food-- and that includes the Teen Lock-In. Since the lock-in is a large event, we're bringing out an even larger variety of food to match! We're talking rice balls, chips, soda, pizza, and more... mmm, we're getting hungry just thinking about it! Healthy snacks will also be provided to balance out our greasier options. Fruits and other breakfast foods will be brought out in the morning so we won't be sending teens home hungry.
Games!
Our favorite part of the Teen Lock-In has to be the games! We'll have popular games like Uno and Sorry to play with friends. If you're more of a video game lover, we've got those too. Our most popular is Mario Kart, so show off your mad racing skills! But that's not all-- our showstopper is a grand game of capture the flag that takes up most of our upper level! Pick a team, then use teamwork and stealth to make sure that the best team wins-- yours! If you're craving to compete in something, our games will be the perfect fit for you.
And More!
But wait, there's more! When you get tired of food and games, try out one of our other fun activities. Movies have always been a fan-favorite at the TADL Teen Lock-Ins, so we knew we had to include them again this year. Pick your favorite movie, then settle in with a salty snack-- the only rule? Movies must be age appropriate. If you'd prefer a quieter activity, that's fine too. Coloring pages and craft projects will be available throughout the library, so feel free to relax and make a fun souvenir to take back home. We'll even have karaoke set up, so if you'd rather sing, go right ahead! Belt out your favorite cheesy tunes with friends.
So, what should you know before joining in?
1. The TADL Teen Lock-In is for teens between the ages of 13 and 18 only. This helps us keep activities interesting and age-appropriate for everyone involved!
2. Don't forget to bring in a signed permission slip-- no slip, no entry! You can find one online here or ask for a physical copy at the Teen reference desk.
