The McGuire Community Room is located on the left after entering the Main Library. It serves as the primary venue for library programs and public meetings throughout the year and is suitable for meetings, presentations, web-based meetings or film screenings.
Established non-profit groups, including civic, cultural, government, political, or educational groups, may use meeting rooms. Establishment papers may be requested by Library staff for verification purposes (such as a copy of the group’s 501 (c)(3) certificate or State of Michigan nonprofit articles of incorporations and bylaws.
The McGuire Community Room requires 30 minutes of setup time and 15 minutes of teardown time for all events. This time is automatically added to every reservation. This means that no event may start until the library has been open for 30 minutes and that events must end at 15 minutes until closing time.
Public reservations in the McGuire Community room are subject to a room rental fee based and the duration of the meeting.
All groups and organizations are limited to one advance use per month, no more than 3 months in advance.
