Want your artwork displayed at the Main Library? The Traverse Area District Library is looking for original artwork created by teens for our Teen Services sign.

The artwork must:

  • Include the words “Teen Services”
  • Be appropriate for a public setting
  • Be original artwork, no remixing
  • Contain the artist signature in the design
  • Landscape orientation only and the scale must be twice as wide as it is tall
    (e.g. 4” h x 8” w)
  • Have an entry form with it.

Entries will be accepted beginning Wednesday, February 1, through 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. The winning entry will be chosen based on the needs of the library and the opinions of the teens who frequent it.

Original artwork may be submitted in two ways:
Digital entries should be emailed to teens@tadl.org with “Teen Services Art Contest” in the subject line and include the artist’s name, age, and preferred contact method.

Physical entries may be turned in at any Traverse Area District Library staff desk and should include an attached paper with the words “Attention: Teen Services Art Contest” and include the artist's name, age, and preferred contact method, in print.

By submitting your artwork to participate in this contest, the artist grants the Traverse Area District Library exclusive use to reproduce your original artwork for production of a sign and subsequent display at the library for an unlimited period of time.

There is no set length of time your artwork will remain on the sign. Artwork chosen for the sign will be on display until the next updating of the sign. The library reserves the right to change the sign and reuse previous submissions at their discretion.
