The TADL Board of Trustees Regular Meeting of February 19, 2026 has been cancelled due to a lack of business items. All routine business matters from this canceled meeting will be conducted at the TADL Board of trustees Regular Meeting on March 19, 2026.

The goal of the Traverse Area Historical Society is to share local history of Traverse City and the Grand Traverse region.

This month's topic is:  

'"Old Indian Trails" and the Kchi Wiikwedong Anishinaabe History Project'

This update on the Kchi Wiikwedong Anishinaabe History Project will include a summary of research and project activities to date. Project Coordinator Emily Modrall will also discuss several specific topics in regional nineteenth-century history, including the 'Old Indian Trails' in the Grand Traverse area. The goal of the project is to bring more attention and awareness to the existing trail markers and to the broader Anishinaabe history of this region.
